Baier Hatches
Pics and Prices
Baier is the first name associated with marine hatches, having
set the standard for the industry since 1947. Baier invented and patented
the first flush hatch, was the original designer and supplier of flush
hatches to the military, and was the first flush hatch manufacturer to
receive American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and all U.S. Coast Guard certification
for their product. The Baier hatch is used on all types of fishing boats,
tugs, barges, work boats, and other marine vessels in both the military
and private sectors.
Unique design
All Baier Hatches use the patented strongback system of securing the hatch
cover to the deck. It is superior to other more complicated hatch closure
systems because:
• It is SIMPLE. Only two moving parts ensure many more trouble free years
of operation. Simplicity equals safety when at sea.
• It is STRONG. No other closure system is as rugged or durable. Stonger
is better.
• It is more reliably WATERTIGHT.
Certification and Approval All Baier Hatches have been approved and
used by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers, and the Canadian Department of Transport.
All hatches are measured by clear opening thru hatch
Round Hatches The most popular Baier Flush Hatch™ is the round, flush-mounted,
quick release, lift-out hatch with grab handles as shown. It is standard
equipment on fishboats, tugs, barges, work boats, and other marine vessels,
and many U.S. navy and U.S. Coast Guard vessels.
The standard round sizes are 24", 20", 18", 16"
and 14" (clear opening diameter).

Oval Lift-Out Flush Hatch
The oval, flush-mounted, quick release, lift-out hatch with grab handles as
shown is most often used where beam spacing does not permit the use of a round
cover.
The satandard oval sizes are 15" x 24" and 13-1/2" x
20-1/2" (clear opening dimensions).

Screw-Out Plate was designed to provide access without the use of tools.
The screw out plates provide features unobtainable elsewhere; single start,
non-jamming, extra strong, self-cleaning buttress thread

Beckson Self Drain Opening Ports were innovatively designed with
the drain molded on the inside of the spigot. This design promotes drainage
without having the hassle of making angled cuts in the hull for the spigot
or the drains. They allow for thru-bolting, which is impossible in windows
where the angled spigot extends below the bolt holes.
